 Whatever. Y'all bring them to the nursing home to see me.

Someone remind me to coo at the baby more. That's all she wants to do. Coo, suck her thumb and look around. She doesn't even need to rock anymore. I forgot to relax and enjoy that part. She does enjoy being toted around ... she grabs my hair and gazes at me. It is sweet. Then I have to break the gaze and yell at ... I mean deal with ... I mean care for one of the boys.

those infants are so sweet! they are too little to cause any real trouble, unless they are sick. my spidey was the sweetest infant. and he's still so sweet when he's sleeping...

Stop it, OL! :nono1:
2 more days. TFT, a 10-day trip was my longest ever, too. I found surviving that trip kind of like working through the five stages of grief, particularly denial and anger. :funn:

what stage are you in today pea?

love this thread...

Thanks. We do pretty good, but there is always room for improvement. I have wonderful kids--couldn't ask for better. Right now we are going through a transition with some of them going from "little kid" to "big kid" and with that comes more responsibility for them around the house. When it is all said and done, my "big kid" 11-yr. old still needs to be tucked in at night with the blankies she's had since she was 18 mos.

I can vouch for CCK's wonderful kids! they are wonderful because CCK is such a wonderful, zen-mom. you do it all with such grace and calm.

and all of you moms offer such support to each other. I appreciate reading all of your experiences. It helps us all.

May I interrupt this thread to announce that hubby is home. :clap_1: :clap_1: :clap_1:

Also the 3 year old finally learned to do No. 2 on the potty this week. :clap_1: :clap_1: :clap_1:

Pea hang in there!!

All I can say Pea is be very thankful that you have a hubby, that when he is home helps you out. I pretty much have raised my 13 1/2 year old all alone because my hubby works all the time. Of course, I do to, but I am the mom and therefore it is my duty to raise the kid. I do only have one, and it has been easy so far even though I work 40hrs a week, am president of our Recreation Center and have to be at all ballgames, run our concession stand, and deal with getting son to ball practices, band practices, etc, etc, etc. Do I sound like I am complaining? Perhaps a wee bit, but I will look back on his life when he is grown and know that I did everything in my power to raise a great kid.

CCK, I am so very sorry for your friends loss. :(

On that note: Here is a little something that I have on my desk wall and like to read from time to time. I have posted this I think a long time ago, but I think it is good to re-visit.

To my child...

Just for this morning, I am going to smile when I see your face and laugh when I fell crying.

Just for this morning, I will let you choose what to you want to wear, and smile and say how perfect it is.

Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one if he comes by.

Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or secon guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you for trying to fix them.

Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

Just for theis evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.

Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.

Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.

Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has give me the greatest gift ever.

I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside they can't handle it anymore.

And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer..It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask him for nothing except one more day...
