What do you all think about the idea of Nancy Pelosi coming along and using impeachment of 45 as a stall tactic to delay Senate confirmation of the next SC appointee? I think it might be the worst idea I've ever heard. Convince me I'm wrong. I can't think of a better way to to turn off swing voters who might otherwise have voted for Biden and Senate Democrats. The focus right now should be striving to Dump Trump and flip the Senate. Impeachment would be really taking one's ey off the ball. Hopefully McConnel will see that it's politically unpalatable to hold a vote prior to the election. He would be taking his eye off the ball as well. Impeachment of Trump last year was the right thing to do, but it wasn't politically popular. Doing it now right before the election might be the dumbest idea I've ever heard. Any thoughts?

It is a dumb idea. trump and his cult like nothing better than playing the victim. Republicans are just sleazy lowlifes who are aiding this orange ahole to get within cheating distance, nothing more. There will be plenty to impeach on next year.

Yes, it would be dumb to try impeachment now. I doubt that thought came from Pelosi. Most likely disinformation. I think they should just hammer down on how hypocritical the entire GOP senate is. I think flipping the Senate should take precedent over flipping out.

It is not a good idea because it actually would help Trump. The reason it would help Trump is because of democrats like Poppaj who offend republicans at every opportunity. I don't understand why he can't hear his words calling neighbors and friends and family "sleazy lowlifes who are aiding this orange ahole". If Americans are split 50/50 then that means every other person who reads these post are insulted. If not for democrats like Poppaj impeachment could be an option but under the circumstances of not being able to control rage...absolutely not! It would turn off even some moderate democrats. Maybe there are other "arrows in the quiver".

QAnon's growth mirrors sharp spike in far-right extremist violence in US: Experts

"What's weird about today is that if they are anti-government like QAnon, it's about a 'deep state,' this second government," he said. "Typically, on the far right, they're wildly opposed to a strong federal government. But this doesn't look like that. This is, in fact, a defense of what they see as their government."
Yes, that is what stuns me too. There is no "deep state" doing a damn thing in the dark. The manipulation of the government from a democracy to a fascist state is being done by the "legitimate" government in broad daylight. The governor of Florida wants legislation passed that it's OK to murder someone with your car, if you think that person is part of a mob! This is not a joke.

We have been given two choices in terms of ideology. Liberal and Conservative. Our political system and social system has divided the people into these two groups. Unfortunately human behavior can be manipulated into an us against them mentality which gives us elitism and extremism within the two groups. The more we manipulate either ideology the more people migrate to the extremes. I believe that moderation is where humanity thrives and extremism is where we become destructive. If Donald Trump continues as our leader for another four years both groups will grow in number and our destructive nature will increase. The conspiracy theories of the Qanon group is destructive just like Antifa is destructive. Both have their own realities of truth and justice. We need a leader who is dedicated to unifying we the people to a common purpose. That common purpose is more productive and constructive social and economic systems. It is the opposite of us against them but rather we the people are better together...

If Trump is successful in appointing a SCJ we just can not have a close race where it comes down to the court. Trump does not care as much about democracy as he does himself. If this is a close election he will certainly contest the election results with the help of the electoral college and SC. Trump could win even though the majority of we the people vote for Biden. It happened last time and it could happen again. This should prove that his nature is wrong for the job. But of course it will only prove it to half of we the people. People who vote for Trump will essentially help him change our democracy of we the people to a totalitarian regime of centralized power. Therefore every vote for Trump is a vote to take away "we the people" in our sacred democracy. Only in 2020 could this happen! If your vote is not decided please consider the consequences of a contested election. Only Trump has this power to abuse the election results. Even if you do not like Biden or his political party or progressive politics he simply does not have this kind of power to abuse. In addition Biden is a "moderate" democrat and may be the only hope to save our democracy. This election is that important for the future of our Country. Once there is precedent there is no going back...
